 Some little books made with the Rollabind system It might be handy to have a little tiny book as a necklace when you go to craft gatherings and retreats - get people's autographs, write down web sites that you want to visit, etc. If you drill holes in the disks, they can then be strung for a necklace or threaded with ribbon, cord or beads for decoration. All the covers are made from polymer clay using mokume gane on black clay for the necklace, stamps and pearlex on black clay for the octogon book and a slice of a bargello stack for the heart. If the clay is any thicker than about #6 on your pasta machine, you'll have to cut the slots in the covers by hand - takes about two minutes with a pointed scalpel. If you're making your pages out of very thin clay, you will be able to punch the slots easily with the Rollabind punch - baked clay, anyway - I think raw clay would probably gunk things up. I have been painting on layers of clear TLS on the outside covers and colored TLS on the inside covers - this makes the clay covers stronger and even more flexible.
